NAVARRO, JAUME

HISTORY, HISTORY OF SCIENCE, PHILOSOPHY

Jaume Navarro is Ikerbasque Research Professor in the History of Science at the University of the Basque Country.

Trained in Physics and in Philosophy he has published widely in the history of physics in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as well as in the philosophy of Karl Popper, the historical relationship between science and religion and the social perceptions of science.

He is author and/or editor, among others of Science and Faith within Reason   (Ashgate 2011), A History of the Electron  (Cambridge University Press, 2012)Research and Pedagogy. A History of Quantum Physics through its Textbooks  (Edition Open Access, 2013) and Ether and Modernity (Oxford University Press, 2018).

In 2019, he edited, together with Kostas Tampakis, a special section in Zygon on Science and Religion. New Historical Perspectives.
