Alexander Hall is a historian of science and science communication expert. His research explores the history of science in popular media; analysing how scientists have gained positions of expertise in society and used the media to communicate complex theories to the public. He is an Assistant Professor in the School of Interdisciplinary Science at McMaster University, where he leads the Science in Society Lab.

Alexander is a co-founder of the International Research Network for the Study of Science and Belief in Society, and was previously the History of Science Section Recorder for the British Science Association, and President of the International Commission for the History of Meteorology.
