Meera Gopakumar is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Religious Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Her research interests include politics and history of nonreligious social movements, science and religion/nonreligion in society, magic and hypnotism, and gender and nonreligion. She is currently working on her thesis on rationalists in Kerala, India.

Previously, Meera has worked as Assistant Professor in Political Science at Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi from 2015-2021.
