I have submitted my thesis for examination at The University of the West of Scotland. Titled ‘Taking the blinkers off: Developing pre-service primary teacher’s scientific literacy through a case-based reasoning approach to socio-scientific discussion’. Findings suggest that pre-service primary teachers struggle to negotiate socio-scientific issues from perspectives that differ from their own and tend to privilege evidence aligned with their own epistemic understanding.
