Cherniak, Aaron D.

Rabbi Aaron D. Cherniak, MA, is a behavioral scientist and clinical psychologist completing his PhD in Psychology at Stockholm University in putative psychotherapeutic mechanisms of change related to psychedelics. Using an in-depth, mixed-methods approach, he researches the intersection of health and well-being, spirituality and religion, relationships, therapeutic processes of change, and lifespan development. His work on spirituality ranges from everyday transcendent emotions to intense spiritual experiences (e.g., with psychedelics) and their relevance to outcomes, favorable and unfavorable. His research investigates the capacity of spirituality to enhance clinical interventions. He has lectured in various forums on spirituality-related clinical competencies.
