Evelina Lundmark successfully defended her dissertation – project ‘This is the Face of an Atheist’: Performing Private Truths in Precarious Publics –at the Faculty of Theology at Uppsala University in February 2019.

The study looked at women and gender queer people perform identity on YouTube. Her research interests lie in the areas of nonreligion and secular studies, digital religion, gender studies, and critical theory. Evelina has previously done research on how religion is negotiated in discussions on reddit.com/r/atheism, and has collaborated on projects that examined how the Swedish Christian magazine Vår Lösen impacted the daily press during Anne-Marie Thunberg’s tenure as editor in chief, and the modern graveyard in Sweden as a physical and existential space (CAMINE).
