COMPARATIVE RELIGION | SOCIOLOGY | SOCIOLOGY OF RELIGION

Stephen H. Jones is a sociologist who specialises in the study of Islam and Muslims in the West and their treatment by Western societies and states, and public perceptions of science and (non)religion. He is Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Sociology at Keele University.

He was Co-PI of ‘Science and Religion: Exploring the Spectrum: A Global Perspective’ and is Co-PI and Co-Director of the International Research Network for the Study of Science and Belief in Society. His publications include Islamic Studies in European Higher Education (eds. With Jorgen Nielsen, University of Edinburgh Press, 2023), Islam and the Liberal State (IB Tauris, 2021) and Science, Belief and Society (eds. With Tom Kaden and Rebecca Catto, University of Bristol Press, 2019).
