Joseph Satish Vedanayagam is Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Saveetha Engineering College (Anna University), Chennai (India).
He has a PhD in Science, Technology & Society Studies (STS) from the University of Hyderabad, India. Joseph’s PhD research explored the relationship between missionary spirituality and the scientific activities of Jesuit priests in independent India. Previously, as Coordinator for Backchannels, the blog of the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) and as Editor-at-Large for the Toynbee Prize Foundation, Joseph has published blogs and interviews related to the social studies of science and religion. His writings on science, religion and Indian society have appeared on various online media and peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Rural Development, Arcadia and Historical Studies in the Natural Sciences. Joseph has degrees in Electronics Engineering and in Rural Management, and has worked in the information technology industry as well as the non-profit sector.
