Valeria Rainero is a PhD student in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento, Italy.
Her primary research interests lie at the intersection of secularization studies and the relationship between science and religion among academics. She employs quantitative approaches and text analytics in her analyses.

In her PhD project she investigates how researchers’ religious beliefs influence academic knowledge production in the ongoing debate on secularization.

She holds a double MA degree in Sociology from the University of Trento and the Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg.
