Dr. Mahesh Premarathna is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of
Arts, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the Deakin
University, Australia, an MA in Sociology from the South Asian University, India, and a BA in
Sociology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Dr. Premarathna’s extensive academic background and research expertise encompass a diverse range of sociological and anthropological topics, including religion, social change, social formation, urbanization, medical sociology, and social work.
