An assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi, I am currently in the process of completing my PhD, which I have submitted but not yet been awarded. My doctoral research is titled “Environmental Facts Produced in Laboratories: A Sociological Study of Epigenetics,” focusing on ethnographic studies conducted within a scientific laboratory where epigenetics is a central theme.
My research encompasses two main aspects. Firstly, I investigate the types of scientific facts generated within laboratory settings. Secondly, I explore the interplay between scientific narratives and religious narratives, aiming to illuminate the relationship between science and religion, particularly regarding the social implications of scientific knowledge production in laboratories. This dual focus allows me to engage with the broader discourse on how scientific practices intersect with societal beliefs and values.
My academic perspective is heavily influenced by the fields of science and technology studies (STS) and the sociology of religion. My research interests extend to science and technology studies, sociology of medicine, and sociology of religion, reflecting a commitment to understanding the complex dynamics at the intersection of these disciplines.
