Jenia Gorbanenko is a social anthropologist at University College London and part of the ETHNO-ISS ethnographic research team that studies the International Space Station. She specialises in the nascent field of anthropology of religion in outer space, and in her doctoral research she interrogates the Russian Orthodox Christian perspective on space exploration. Prior to joining ETHNO-ISS, Jenia’s research focused on the post-Soviet Russian Orthodox revival in Russia.
