Çağdaş Dedeoğlu is a posthuman scholar of political science, specializing in political ecology of religion, science, and security.
He currently teaches philosophy and humanities at Yorkville University in Toronto, ON (Canada). He is also a research associate at the US-based Center for Critical Research on Religion. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University and completed his postdoctoral studies in Religion, Philosophy, and Nature at the University of Florida’s Department of Religion. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Istanbul Arel University and the Institute of Strategic Studies in Istanbul, Turkey. He also held administrative positions at both institutions between 2012 and 2018.
His academic interests animate his involvement with research organizations including the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture and the Political Ecology Network
