Josh is a Senior Lecturer in the Criminology, Politics, and Sociology department at Kingston University, London.

His work focuses on the sociology of religion, with a particular interest in non-religion, connection, belonging, and paranormal, superstitious, magical, and supernatural (PSMS) beliefs.
