My PhD thesis, “Rereading the Qurʾān: The Modern Methodologies of Muḥammad Shaḥrūr and ʿAdnān al-Rifāʿī”, develops a novel approach to re-reading the Qurʾān, inspired by the methodologies of two Syrian thinkers. It is grounded in the view that the Qurʾān is both a book of guidance and a source of knowledge. I aim to establish a framework for interpreting the Qurʾān and demonstrating the divinity of the text by analyzing its structure and content. This approach employs a multidisciplinary methodology that draws on mathematics, science, and other fields, moving beyond traditional methodologies and inherited belief systems in approaching the Qurʾān.

Methodological approach: Philosophy, Theology, history, and science in approaching the Quran
